My Being a New Zealander Quote! :D

Being a kiwi means living in a clean, green country, sitting on your couch and cheering for New Zealand, for rugby, cricket or netball. It means eating fish and chips and hokey pokey ice-cream, it means having 'don't give up' attitude and being determined.

My Pin-Ball Poem

People enjoy playing Pin-ball but the Pin-ball's always gets hurt

Is the Pin-Ball ever going to get a rest?

Never had he been more frightened

Before the Pin-ball goes he hears the machine starting up again

A ride of his life he had

Long journey for the first time ever

Lives in a warming house

Slice Of Life

Mt Taranaki

I was breathing heavily,my feet were so heavy as if they weighed 5kg and my feet felt like jelly. I took the last step. I was now over 2000m above sea level, and on the top of Mt Taranaki. I was so cold, as if I was trapped in a freezer, luckily I had a warm jacket on.

I looked out and saw the view, it was beautiful. It made me feel like, it didn't matter climbing over over all those rocks, being cold and taking 5 hours to get to the top, it didn't matter I had satrted climbing 5:00 in the morning. We had climbed up,up, up the scree, through the crater (which was filled with snow) and then we had climbed over rocks to get to the top.

I could see other mountains and since the view was so good I could even see Mt Ngauruhoe, Mt Tongariro and Mt Ruapehu,( they are a long way a way from Mt Taranaki). I could hear the howl of the wind , I could taste my lips getting drier by the second. I could feel the wind and coldness attacking me. The clouds limped across the sky. It was a beautiful sight.

Mt Taranaki was the hardest, longest and highest mountain I have ever climbed. It would be hard to top this terrific trek but I still had going down to go.

School's Name & Address

Dear Student

Hi my name is Ashley Thomson. I'm 12 years old and I go to Somerville Intermediate School, which is in Auckland, New Zealand. I am a Year 8 student and I'm in Room 17. I am a girl and can only speak English.

I am writing for a girl Pen-Pal who is 11, 12 or 13.

I am a responsible, caring, helpful and active person. In my family there is 4 people. There is my Mum, Dad, my twin sister and of course there is me. I have no pets. I play netball and run for a club.

Some of my favourite things are as followed. My favourite food is chocolate and I like fruit. I like books that have a mystery in them. My favourite sport is Netball and my favourite colour is green. I like Tiger's as well because I was born in the year of the Tiger.

My family likes to hike. We climb a lot of mountains in the Summer but when it comes to Winter we usually don't have time because on Saturday's my twin sister and I play Netball and we run for a club. What we do for the club is we either just have a fun run or we have time trials or we have races. My Mum also plays Netball and my Dad is a good runner.

Well I have now told you about myself, now its your turn.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Yours Sincerely

Ashley Thomson
